PULE WAILELE (Waterfall Prayer) is a documentary film that takes viewers to Hawaiis beautiful rain forests and natural settings and introduces them to Hawaiians who are reconnecting with their culture through reconnection to the land and the beautiful natural environment.
Film maker John Kalani Zak talks story with Lawrence Aki and Pilipo Solatorio of Halawa Valley on Molokai, and with Hawaiian healing practitioners Alan Alapai, Butch Richards, Papa “K” Kepilino, and Brenda Ignacio about the precious land and water of Hawaii.
Viewers will meet Kawika Winter, director of Limahuli Garden on Kauai who will discuss Hawaiis endangered species and ongoing efforts to bring the land and the people of this ancient ahupuaa back to vibrant health. PULE WAILELE will also immerse viewers in the breathtaking beauty of the rain forest accompanied by the prayerful voice of recording artist, Makana.
