Lorna Lim’s beautiful voice, her deep knowledge of hula, and her connection to Hawai`i island’s music tradition place her among Hawaii’s living treasures.
Born and raised in the North Kohala district on that island, she began playing music at an early age with her siblings and parents, an award-winning family musical group known throughout Hawai`i simply as ‘The Lim Family’.
Lorna recorded “Polinahe” for hula dancers, in a style that reflects her personal musical tradition. The translation of the title – “poli”, meaning from the heart, and “nahe”, meaning sweet and pure – sums up Lorna’s musical style and the beautiful quality of her voice.
